Lan Ngyen and Carolyn Roper development
After looking at this image during my research I was inspired to try covering a small section of the face with stenciling to see the results I could create. The final images are good and it is now easier to imagine how other colours and textures could fit within the rest of the make up. Make up by Lan Ngyen and Carolyn Roper.
Jean-Luc Moerman
Jean-Luc Moerman, a Belgian artist, takes images of fashion shoots, iconic images as well as classic pictures and adds his own unique touch. Taking inspiration from tattooing he covers the models in the images with tattoos. I think it is really effective and I could look at the images for ages noticing different things. I have already decided that for my editorial look I wanted to concentrate on detail. Therefore I am looking at taking most of my inspiration from the tattooing and scarification I have researched so far. The images of Moermans work have inspired me to create face charts that have given me many ideas for my final look.

Inspired by Manish Arora
After looking through lots of images of the Catwalk shows of Manish Arora's work I was inspired to get messy with my make up kit and produce some colourful work. I was keen to not get too caught up in producing technically perfect and visually neat work but instead to be really creative and produce a number of different looks. The reason I chose to do this was because I have seen so much colour in my research but have become aware I haven't used a lot in my experimental make up work so far. The other reason I chose to not be too neat was because throughout my research stages I came across beautiful images from tribes and not once did I see and face of make up that was perfectly applied, yet I was so inspired by them. I believe there is plenty of time to perfect my ideas and currently I just want to give myself opportunity to try different things so that I will have a much smoother task of designing my final looks.
